DODD Approval In Process

Allos Healthcare Services is currently in the process of being approved by DODD - the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

This process supports our commitment to serving individuals with developmental disabilities through appropriate safeguards, documentation, training, and person-centered care practices.

Federal & State Home Care Regulations

We comply with all applicable federal and Ohio state regulations governing non-medical home care agencies, including the Ohio Administrative Code requirements for home care aide services. Our policies and procedures are designed to meet or exceed these regulatory standards.

Our compliance framework covers person-centered care, client rights and dignity, informed consent, abuse prevention and reporting, complaint handling, proper documentation, staff qualifications, and emergency preparedness.

Abuse Prevention & Mandatory Reporting

The safety of our clients is our absolute priority. We comply with Ohio's Dependent Adult Abuse laws (Ohio Code Chapter 235B) and maintain a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and neglect. All employees are designated as mandatory reporters under Ohio law.

All staff are trained to recognize signs of abuse, including physical, emotional, financial, and neglect, and understand how to report concerns through established channels, including the Ohio Department of Human Services abuse hotline.

If you suspect abuse or neglect of a dependent adult, contact the Ohio Adult Protective Services hotline immediately or call 911 in an emergency.

Staff Screening & Background Checks

All caregivers undergo comprehensive criminal background checks through the Ohio Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and are verified against the Ohio Abuse Registry and Sex Offender Registry before their first assignment. We also verify professional references and conduct skills assessments.

  • Ohio DCI criminal background checks
  • Ohio Abuse Registry and Sex Offender Registry checks
  • National criminal history check (FBI fingerprint-based)
  • Professional reference verification (minimum two references)
  • Skills competency assessments
  • Ongoing training in abuse prevention, infection control, and emergency procedures

HIPAA & Data Protection

Allos Healthcare Services is fully compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We protect the privacy and security of all client health information through administrative, physical, and technical safeguards.

Our privacy practices ensure that Protected Health Information (PHI) is only used and disclosed as permitted by law. All staff complete annual HIPAA training and sign confidentiality agreements.

Clients have the right to access their records, request amendments, and receive an accounting of disclosures of their health information.

Medicaid Compliance

As a provider serving both private-pay and Medicaid clients, we comply with all Ohio Medicaid program requirements and federal Medicaid regulations. This includes proper documentation, service authorization procedures, accurate billing practices, and adherence to the Ohio Medicaid Member Services guidelines.

We maintain full transparency in our billing and are committed to preventing fraud, waste, and abuse in all Medicaid-funded services.

Feedback & Complaints

We value all feedback as it helps us improve. We have a robust complaints procedure in place that ensures all concerns are listened to, investigated thoroughly, and resolved in a timely and professional manner.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of a complaint, you have the right to file a complaint with the Ohio Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing or contact the Ohio Long-Term Care Ombudsman.
